Rewilding Home
ARGENTINA
This Reconnect Journey takes you deep into Argentina’s northeast—where rivers, wetlands, forests, and tradition meet. Hosted by Fran, it begins in Buenos Aires with two nights of culture: tango, historic neighborhoods, and a private cruise through the Paraná Delta—your first glimpse of the landscapes ahead.
Next, fly north to the Iberá wetlands and explore with Don Omar, a local gaucho and early Rewilding Argentina guide. Canoe through still waters, swim with horses, visit his ranch, and enjoy an evening of Chamamé music.
A private flight takes you over the wetlands to Rincón del Socorro for two nights of conservation-focused experiences: e-biking, kayaking among capybaras and caimans, and sunset at the edge of the Esteros.
Travel on to Misiones. Visit Santa Inés to learn about yerba mate, then stay at Puerto Bemberg Lodge. Hike forest trails, sail to hidden waterfalls, and float the river on an ecologic tour. At Iguazú, see the falls by day and under the full moon.
End at Fran’s family Estancia near Buenos Aires—a 100-year-old home where you’ll ride horses, enjoy an asado by the river, and close the journey in a place shaped by generations.

CONSERVATION PROGRAM
The Rewilding Argentina project is restoring the Iberá Wetlands by reintroducing species that once thrived in this vast ecosystem. Giant otters, pampas deer, red-and-green macaws, and anteaters have already returned, but the most symbolic reintroduction is the jaguar—a species deeply rooted in the culture of the Corrientes people. Once extinct in the region for over 70 years, the jaguar’s return represents both ecological restoration and a cultural revival, reconnecting locals with their natural heritage. As a traveller, your visit supports this mission by engaging in eco-tourism experiences that celebrate conservation, local traditions, and sustainable practices. By choosing to explore Iberá, you contribute directly to the region’s economy, empowering communities to thrive while protecting their land and wildlife for generations to come.

FREQUENT Q&A
Who is this journey for?
This trip is for travelers seeking meaningful, nature-based experiences with comfort, culture, and conservation at the core. It’s ideal for those who want to explore Argentina off the beaten path—through small group travel, thoughtful hosting, and purpose-driven adventure.
How do I sign up?
Fill out the form to sign up; and we will send you all the details of the journey.
Once confirmed, a $500 deposit per person secures your place. If the minimum group size of 8 guests is not reached, your deposit is fully refundable or transferable to another trip. The remaining balance is due 120 days before departure.
Are solo travellers welcome?
Yes. Solo travelers may request to share a room (if a match is available), or opt for a private room with a single supplement of $1,665 USD.
What are the accommodations like?
You’ll stay in handpicked 4★+ and 5★ hotels, lodges, and estancias, chosen for their comfort, unique character, and connection to conservation and landscape. Expect remote settings and personalized service.
How physically active is the journey?
This is a soft adventure itinerary. Activities like kayaking, horseback riding, and light hiking are included. A moderate level of fitness and comfort in nature is recommended.
What should I pack?
Bring practical, breathable clothing for warm days and cooler nights, including layers, a light jacket, and a raincoat or poncho. Comfortable walking or hiking shoes are essential, as well as swimwear for water-based activities. While the overall style is casual, we recommend bringing one or two casual-formal outfits for evening dinners. A soft-sided duffel or carry-on is ideal for charter flights within the wetlands, where space is more limited (Larger luggage will travel by land on these flights).
What kind of wildlife can I expect to see?
You’ll likely encounter capybaras, caimans, marsh deer, monkeys, and a wide range of birds. If lucky, there’s also a chance to see reintroduced species like the jaguar, part of the Iberá wetlands rewilding initiative.
What is Rewilding Argentina, and how is it part of this journey?
Rewilding Argentina is a conservation project working to restore native ecosystems and species. Many of the regions and lodges visited are directly involved with or inspired by this initiative, offering unique access and insight into real conservation work.
How do we get from place to place?
Buenos Aires to Corrientes: Regular domestic flight
Within Iberá (West to East, East to North): Two private charter flights on Cessna 206 aircraft
Iguazú to Buenos Aires: Regular domestic flight
All ground transfers are in private vehicles with your group.
International flights are not included.
What type of currency is used in Argentina?
The local currency is the Argentine peso (ARS). However, U.S. dollars and credit cards are widely accepted in most places we visit. We recommend bringing some cash (USD) for small purchases or tips in more remote areas, where card payments may not be available.
How remote are the places we visit?
Many of the locations, especially in Iberá, are beautifully remote—surrounded by nature, not noise. Mobile signal is limited, and Wi-Fi is available only in the common areas of the lodges. It’s all part of the experience: a chance to truly disconnect in order to reconnect.
